/buddyread dm

Send a direct message to your paired reading buddy through the bot. This command makes it easy to keep communication private, safe, and organized—whether you’re in a channel or your DMs.

💬 Usage

/buddyread dm <message> [book]

• <message> – The content you want to send to your paired buddy (required)

• [book] – (Optional) Specify which buddy read session if you have multiple active (by book title)

📌 Example

/buddyread dm Hey! Are you free to start reading tonight?

This will:

• Privately send your message to your paired buddy through Elysium Bot

• Deliver the message regardless of whether you use this command in a server channel or a DM

• If you’re paired with more than one buddy, you can specify the book to make sure it goes to the right person

🗃️ Notes

• Only works for users who are currently paired as reading buddies

• The recipient will receive your message via the bot for privacy and spam prevention

• If you have more than one active buddy read, always use the [book] option for clarity

• Both users must have Elysium in at least one shared server or both have DMs open to the bot
